Gwen!

I'm 99.999% sure this will NOT be my only blog post about the incredible Miss Gwen Stefani...

But I (finally) got done reading the article in last months InStyle Magazine...
and can I just say... I STILL want to be Gwen when I grow up!

Seriously.... this woman is my own personal superhero in a million and ten ways...
((Love this Quote))...

And how exciting for her new Spring 2010 L.A.M.B. line...

Sigh... makes me daydream...

'The Hills'-filled weekend...

The cast of the final season of The HillsMTV - Friday, April, 23, 2010, 8:23 PM

So... this weekend, I spent leisurely doing laundry and watching The Hills Marathon on MTV from beginning to the last episode of the last season. (The new 'Final' season starts on Tuesday).

I never thought I'd ever watch this show. I honestly thought it was ridiculous and a waste of time.
Maybe it still is.
But I wanted to 'veg-out' this weekend, and I did. And watching The Hills was the perfect partner to ensure that I wasn't going anywhere (I couldn't stand to miss an episode, lol).

Okay, so I did have a date with the hubs and my Bubba (we took him to see 'Diary Of A Wimpy Kid' then went and got some frozen yogurt). And we did make it to church Sunday morning. But 90% of the weekend was spent vegging out on the couch in front of the tv.

The show reminded me of the 'good-ol-days' when the cast of Beverly Hills 90210 were my true, honest-to-blog friends. I felt like I grew up with these kids. Their issues were the same issues I was dealing with. I just loved that show. In that same light, watching The Hills gave me that same familiar feeling. I mean, what they were doing on a daily basis... lunch with friends, shopping for a new outfit, beach bonfires, drama drama drama... that is kind-of exactly how I grew up (and how life can still be, lol).

I realize that some people reading this might see this as, well, however... snobby or superficial, or lazy or whatever. And for some reason, I truly hesitated about blogging it. But you know what. I really don't care. It's my blog. It's my life. And this is something that I fell into, and totally enjoyed it. So what. It's a flippin' escape from my own life. Sometimes we need that. hehe

So, what did YOU do this weekend??

Anywho... I found this mini-questionairre on Miss Rachel's Blog and thought it would be fun (and perhaps blog-motivating) to post.

So, without further ado... I bring you a happy photo (from weheartit.com

And the mini-questionairre...

1. When do you feel happiest?
~~~~~>I feel happiest when I am with my family... the hubs and the chitlins... my sister and her beautiful babes... my mom and my dad. Just being together, in the same room... I take hold of every minute we are all together.
2. How do you take care of yourself?
~~~~~>I've stopped smoking and drinking (everyday)(only on special occasions). I've begun eating well, making better food choices (whole grains, lots of veggies and fruit, chicken and fish). I've upped my cardio (Zumba classes and lots of treadmill/elliptical) and I've started core training with a trainer. I read, instead of watching tv for hours a night, and I make sure to take time for myself.

3. Are you internally (by yourself) or externally (by others) motivated?
~~~~~>Oooh, good question. I think I am more externally motivated. I have my moments where I feel very motivated internally, but usually it takes motivation by others (by things I can visually see) to get me movin' and a shakin'.
4. What do you do for fun?
~~~~~>Hmmm, I do lots of things for fun. I love hanging out with girlfriends. I love girls nights! Date night with the hubs or a double date is always a lot of fun. I also like to have family game night with the kids. And soon here we will be spending every waking free second we have at the pool.

5. What intimidates you?
~~~~~>Ha! The free-weights room at the gym. lol.
6. What is something you're proud of?
~~~~~>My children. They amaze me every day with how they have grown in mind and spirit. They are both so smart, getting good grades in school, making good decisions, being polite and well-mannered. I just love them and really am so incredibly proud of them both.

7. Finish this sentence.
I never _____________.
~~~~~>Hate anything... I may dislike many things, but absolutely Never Hate. It takes up too much energy and gets you absolutely nowhere positive.
8. Favorite vacation spot.
~~~~~>Hanalei Bay, Kauai (Hawaii)

9. Today is a (rate from 1 - 10).
~~~~~>As tired as I am, I'll still give the day a 7, so far.
10. Finish this sentence.
If you knew me really well you'd know _____________.
~~~~~>That I don't eat bananas, eggs, or tomatoes, and I don't drink milk. Ick!

Thanks everyone! I feel better now! I'd love to see your answers!! If you blog them, link them here!! xoxoxo

can SUCK IT!

Dad's cancer spread.

The good news... it spread to his appendix. It was a stage one tumor that was contained in the appendix and removed.
The not so great news... it was a different cancer than the Non-Hotchkins Lymphoma that he already has. Treatment (more than likely) will be chemo... which he already does every 6 months. But will it be more? More aggresive? More treatments? We don't know. We wont know until they meet with the doctors.
In any case, nothing is going to be done until he is recovered from surgery, and from the shingles he currently has (and fyi... I would never wish shingles upon even my worst enemy... its so painful).

Thank you for your continued support and prayers. They really do work... this could have been so much worse.

Additionally, I just wanted to say that I really don't feel like blogging today... we will see what tomorrow has to bring. I don't mean to be a lame blogger.... really, I don't. I just feel like I've been kicked in the junk one too many times in the past few weeks. I know I'll be back on top here soon. Even if I have to drag myself. lol

oh the places we'll go : SoCal (aka Home)

it seems like people who live in (Southern) California are trying to get out, and everyone else is trying to get in.  I grew up in SoCal and I can see the 'glint and glamor' it has... LA is one of the most famous cities in the world.
See the second tallest building on the right... that's the original First Interstate (now Wells Fargo) building. My Mom worked there... at the top. She left that business-woman life to stay home with my sister and I. It wasn't until I had a career and children that I realized what a huge sacarafice that was for her.

You've got Hollywood
with Hollywood Blvd (the Stars)
and Mann's Chinese Theater
Hollywood Blvd

You've got Beverly Hills
with Rodeo Drive
and the Beverly Hills Hotel

You've got the beach cities...
like Huntington Beach

and Malibu

You've got Palm Springs

and Big Bear

and there is always Buena Park...
with Knotts Berry Farm
and Medieval Times
and Movieland Wax Museum

and last but certainly not least Anaheim...
with Angels Stadium right off the 57 fwy
File:Big A at Angel Stadium.jpg
and of course...
Disneyland

How about my SoCal home... Chino!
yep... cows and prisons. lol

I miss living in SoCal... but thankfully its not too far that I can't visit... and I do... often.
Wanna come with???
hehe

Happy Good Friday!
